In our last blog entry we have already talked about the different methods for identifying shadow IT. We have come to the conclusion that both automated capture and interviews or pure queries have advantages and disadvantages.
We have used this knowledge to develop a tool that enables the business departments to identify and evaluate their shadow IT themselves. The self-assessment tool for shadow IT can now be purchased. It combines the queries for business units with a first, graded evaluation and creates a list of all shadow IT elements. This creates added value for the business departments that immediately receive recommendations for action. At the same time, the generated list provides a first transparency that can serve as a basis for the company to conduct in-depth interviews without the need for a complete survey.
